Sandra è rinata, a giudicare dal titolo del nuovo album “Back To Life”. Affronta la vita privata con un nuovo compagno e quella artistica con nuovi produttori.
Due anni fa la notizia del divorzio dal compagno storico Michael Cretu (alias ENIGMA) suscitò forti emozioni e sgomento tra i fan di vecchia data. Il precedente lavoro “The Art Of Love” tradiva le emozioni della separazione artistica e sentimentale, sebbene fossero ancora presenti le influenze musicali dell’ex marito. Non a caso la scelta del produttore ricadde su Jens Gad, anche per lui un trascorso di collaborazione in sala di registrazione con Michael Cretu.
Jens Gad torna a produrre Sandra, questa volta con nuovi elementi musicali. Si affida al fratello Toby Gad per i testi e le musiche, Toby è certificato Grammy Award quale autore del brano “Big Girls Don’t Cry” di Fergie (vocalist dei Black Eyed Peas).
Sandra canta rap, latino americana, suona hip hop stile Timberland, potrebbe sconcertare chi è ancora troppo abituato alle atmosfere evocative e ricercate della musica di Cretu. Tuttavia la sfida è stata appena lanciata e Sandra attende al suo cospetto vecchi e nuovi fans.

La “Little Girl” non ne fa un’operazione ‘nostalgia’, tuttavia omaggia il glorioso passato degli ’80 (nel quale ha militato con successo), lo si può desumere dal nome della traccia “Put Some 80ies In It” e per la presenza di Thomas Anders (ex Modern Talking) nel brano “The Night Is Still Young”.
