La genovese Black Widow Records, un’etichetta con orizzonti mondiali è orogogliosa di annunciare la collaborazione con il sito “Rock Impressions” di Giancarlo Bolther, l’ideatore dell’intero progetto, per la realizzazione del primo album tributo italiano ai Blue Oyster Cult.
I Blue Oyster Cult sono una delle più grandi dark rock band di tutti i tempi. Considerati tra i padri dell’heavy metal, negli anni hanno elaborato un sound che abbraccia molti generi musicali, con testi immaginifici che hanno attinto dalla poesia – celebre la collaborazione con Patti Smith – e dalla letteratura sci-fi, horror e cyber punk. Citati come influenza da artisti molto diversi fra cui Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mike Watt, Big Country e molti altri, sono stati omaggiati da scrittori e registi come Stephen King, Joanne Rowling e Peter Jackson.
“The Dark Side Of The Cult” non è un classico tributo, perché vuole celebrare il lato dark prog e gotico della band americana ed esce in doppio CD con grafica rigorosamente in bianco e nero per ricordare i primi tre album.
Molti artisti hanno aderito al progetto e siamo veramente onorati della partecipazione di Albert Bouchard, il batterista fondatore che ha scritto molti dei loro brani migliori. La cosa che ci ha fatto più piacere è che ogni artista ha messo un sincero entusiasmo nella realizzazione di questo progetto.
